Renée Groenevelt

Renée studied her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at the Hogeschool in Heerlen the Netherlands and qualified in 1995.

She studied her MSc in Neurological Rehabilitation at Cardiff University and qualified in 2017.

Renée is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and HCPC registered.


Renée is an active committee member of ACPIN Wales  (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology) and part of the research working group of ACPIN National.


Specialism - Neuro Rehabilitation (Stroke, Parkinson's Disease, MS, Brain & Cord Trauma)


Renée was born in South Africa and grew up in The Netherlands near Maastricht in the south of the country. After graduating she worked in a number of private practices across The Netherlands and Germany. She also worked in various hospitals across The Netherlands, Germany and Wales, specialising in Neurology and Stroke Rehabilitation.


Since moving back to the UK in 2004 with Jeroen and their young family, Renée worked as the Senior Clinical Lead Neurophysiotherapist in the local NHS in the community hospital, community and rehab day hospitals for 20 years.

Renée recently took up her new post as Service Lead of the Long Covid, ME and CFS MDT Service as part of the wider Multi Model Rehabilitation Service in Hywel Dda University Health Board.



The family fell in love with Pembrokeshire and it's wild countryside and coastline. Renée loves to be in the great outdoors, enjoying cycling and exploring the area on her e-bike. 


She likes reading and also spends time doing yoga to relax. Renée loves to spend much of her spare time with the great community of friends they have in the area and with her family.
